Meckel's scan, using technetium-99m pertechnetate, is commonly used for detection of ectopic gastric mucosa. A 9-year-old boy had a I-year history of anemia and melena. Two days before admission, he had bleeding from the rectum with abdominal pain. Meckel's scan was performed without any pharmacologic pretreatment, and double abnormal foci were demonstrated in the right upper quadrant and in the region superior to the urinary bladder. At surgery, double cystic intestinal duplications were removed. The patient recovered fully after operation.
