Phytochemical investigation of the extract of Arctii Fructus led to the isolation and characterization of two new compounds, named arctiisesquineolignan B (1) and arctiiphenolglycoside A (2). Their structures were elucidated by means of spectroscopic methods (UV, IR, HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR) and chemical evidence, as well as by comparison with known analogs in the literature. Compound 2 exhibited stronger antioxidant activity than the positive control ascorbic acid at a concentration of 10M.
